A discreet path to straighter teeth.
Near-clear aligners, removable for everyday life.
Clear aligners are a series of custom-made, transparent trays worn over the teeth. Each set applies gentle, controlled pressure to move teeth gradually toward a planned position — and because they're removable, they come out for eating, drinking and cleaning, then go back in for the rest of the day and overnight.
For many people, the appeal is simple: aligners are discreet in everyday wear and can be taken out when needed. There are no fixed brackets or wires to work around, which can make brushing and flossing more straightforward than with conventional braces.
They're often considered by adults who would prefer a less visible option, and by parents looking into teeth-straightening for a teenager. That said, aligners aren't right for every case — some tooth movements are better suited to braces or another approach. Which option is recommended for you is a clinical decision, and outcomes vary between individuals.
Aligning crowded or crooked teeth isn't only about appearance. Teeth that are easier to clean can support better long-term oral health — one of the reasons we take the time to plan treatment carefully rather than rushing it.
Clear aligners, in one paragraph
After a clinical assessment and a 3D scan, a personalised plan maps out how your teeth will be guided into position. You wear each set of aligners as directed, swapping to the next in the series every couple of weeks, and attend periodic reviews so your dentist can check progress and adjust the plan if needed.

Clear aligners compared with conventional braces
Who clear aligners may suit.
They may be a suitable option if…
- You'd prefer a discreet, removable approach to straightening your teeth.
- You have mild to moderate crowding, spacing, or a bite concern.
- You're comfortable wearing aligners consistently throughout the day and night.
- Your teeth and gums are healthy, or any existing concerns have been addressed first.
- You're an adult, or a teenager whose teeth are at a suitable stage of development.
They may not be the best fit if…
- Your case involves more complex tooth or jaw movements.
- There are untreated dental health concerns that need attention first.
- Consistent daily wear would be difficult to maintain.
- A different treatment would give a more predictable result for your situation.
- Assessment suggests an alternative is clinically more appropriate.

The information on this page is general in nature and is provided for educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for personalised clinical advice and does not constitute a diagnosis, treatment plan, or recommendation.
- Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Sedation and general anaesthesia carry their own risks, separate from the dental procedure itself. Risks and benefits should be discussed with your dentist and the treating anaesthetist before you proceed.
- Suitability for sleep dentistry — and the appropriate level of sedation — is determined on an individual basis, after a clinical and medical assessment.
- Outcomes vary between patients. Recovery times, individual responses to medication, and clinical results are not the same for everyone.
- No outcome is guaranteed. Sleep dentistry is one of several treatment delivery options; it may not be appropriate for every patient or every procedure.
- Before proceeding with any treatment, you are entitled to seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
- Any cost figures, rebate amounts, or health-fund coverage details discussed in consultation are estimates only and may vary depending on your individual policy and clinical circumstances.
